Until now I had the pleasure of meeting me in person twice, with the beloved and very friendly Franciscan Father Romano Zago OFM, Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, during talks he delivered in Sao Paulo. The first time was four years ago, the Beekeepers Association of St. Paul, whose majority of members are Japanese, and has a special love for nature and its products.
This is the largest Japanese community outside Japan and many farmers who are part of plant variety of fruits and vegetables around the metropolis of 17 million inhabitants that is the greater Sao Paulo, forming a green belt that ensures, as probably in any other big city in the world, a continuous supply of fresh fruits and vegetables. Nearly all TV stations in Brazil invited the priest to rounds of discussions, which made him known throughout the country. Next day morning, I had the honor of taking the Frei Romano Zago OFM to the airport. I told him then that he was preparing a book in German about his subject ("Cancer, where is thy victory?")
